Just wanted everyone to be aware of buying CHEAP rotary tumblers from Harbor Freight Tools. I it's been less than a month an I already had two mtors burn out on Chicago Tools rotary tumbler. Don't be fooled with the cheap price like I did ! Buy a quality product and pay a little more.

Hi Kevin, Lots of us have CE's and have found out about their problems. Just wanted to let you know that you can get a Lortone motor that will fit into your CE (with a little modification) from the Rock Shed for about $17.00 USD. Check the threads in the general, might even be something in the Tips forum, not sure but one of the guys explained what needed to be done to fix it. He's had good luck with it since. I've been running my CE since last July, so far so good, only had to replace a belt. *knock on wood* Hey, join up so we can properly welcome you to the forum.

Put a note in the "board issuses" forum (last on the list) that you're having problems joining so Mark will find it.

I bought Chicago Electric tumbler a month ago, so far I am happy, just had a belt break, and have heard Lortone owners say they had same thing happen. I bought first one from e-bay, paid $20 more than from Harbor FReight direct.

I found out that for about 4 dollars, that I made both my single and dual c.e. tumblers work great by changing to a bigger pulley, and a new belt from Fastenall, they run fast, smooth and cool, infact cooler running than my lortone.
