My son (he is 7 years old) got me hook on rock tumbling.
I bought him a TOY R US Rock Tumbler for christmas, It did a great job of tumbling rocks.
So I ordered a dual 3 pound tumbler from the ROCK SHED, should be here on the 14th of this month. Can't wait to try it out.
My son and I go out to different places now an look for rocks. He always find the best ones.

Yeah, it's cool to see the kids gravitate towards rocks. He'll be a great little helper. This is a great place to learn.

But I did not see my name on the member list.
Just got the tumbler in, my son has already picked the rocks he want to tumble first.

Welcome to the forum! Great to see parents getting their kids interested in nature. Wait till you can make some small trips with him to go out picking rocks, it's a blast!!

We have been out a few times looking for rocks. He always fine the good ones. sunday he found a purple rock the size of a golf ball. I broke it up, looks nice a deep color purple.

Welcome Dan & Son,
You have gotten into the hobby the way many of us have. We got a tumbler for our kids, then it took off from there. I know you will spend lots of quality time with him, and it will be something you both will be doing for many years to come. Have your camera ready to treasure those moments. This is a good place to visit and learn. Very friendly.
