heh, it looks like it. im not new to tumbling rocks, i started about a year ago on a small kids size tumbler but that recently burned out, so im going to upgrade (Thumlers Model B 15 Lb. overkill?). i also have some questions about other procedures
i have a tile cutting saw (used to make marble counters, that about it so far), but i really know nothing about slabing? i was wondering what kind of blade would be good for cutting rocks? also is just water used or some kind of oil? do i need some kind of special vice to hold the rock?
also any good info on making cabs? or what that entails?
i also have a few rocks polished into eggs shapes but i have no idea how this is done either
i live in minnesota so i can usually find a lot of agates
heh, sorry about the shotgun of questions, if anyone knows a book or link that will be just as good as any written response id say

Hi neuraloid, Welcome to the forum! This is a good place to get answers and someone will find them here. Best place to post questions though is on the general forum. Read back through the posts too there's lots of stuff that will help, lots of discussion on saws too. What part of Minnesota you in?

Welcome to the board- there is no such thing as overkill when it comes to tumblers! The bigger the better- As for tile saws well I use one a lot- I use just water and take my time- It has the 7 inch blade it came with (diamond) and although a little thick- it serves me well- I use my hands to hold the rocks- but I also have a wooden (Jorgenson) clamp- I like to hold the rock because I can get a bit control- the rocks will vibrate loose from the clamp (especially the odd shaped ones) As far as cabs go- well I started with a dremel and some diamond bits- that was way too much fun so I got a cabbing machine- (used) they are a bit pricey- but with some patience and inginuity you can build one pretty cheap-
