I have been coming to RTH for awhile now, great site. I tell everyone about this RTH! My name is Jay. I have been into the rock hobby for about 9 years now. I have tryed all parts like collecting, tumbling, cabbing, trees, wire wrap, and on & on.... I am currently the president of the Mid-Ga Gem and Mineral Society. in Macon, Georgia this is my 4th term as president. Been married for 28 years now. 1 son being 21years old at GSU now. I live in Macon, Ga.
As far as rock tumbling I have 4 - 6lb barrels (Lortone) except I have done away with the base units years ago. They just don't hold up, motors not big enough. I have made my on base, runs all 4 barrels at one time. Also have a Jay made 13lb barrel (noisy) and its base. Plus one 3lb and 1.5lb barrels. I like to improve apond things you can say. Don't know how often I can get to talk on RTH as being very busy with work and the rock club. And if I can figure out hoe to post picture, I'll post some of my machines and tumbled stones.

dandresow: Thanks. Haven't done anything with rocks for years. Just fixed an older HP 18 inch and dug out a 10 inch and 18in Lortone and I have a couple of trim saws and need to make something to cab with. We stay broke and I only have enough to put oil in 1 Dec 1, 2024 16:49:20 GMT -5 *
