Hi all! Pebbles here (bf BamBam will be along shortly once he gets activated). Anyways.... (s)tumbled across this site a couple weeks ago and thought I'd do some reading of past posts before signing up. Once I realized how much fun ya' all are having, I couldn't wait any longer. So here I am, new to this kind of rock 'n rollin', but eager to join in. Won't bore you with any "personal" details at this time. (Actually, wouldn't want to scare anybody - just kiddin!) In time you should be able to figure me out. And hey, when you do, could you please let me know what you find "cause I haven't been able to after all these years!

Thanks for being so neighborly, Cher! From what I've read so far, this group IS truly awesome. I have learned so much already and I'm sure I'll be having questions from time to time. I've only been tumbling rocks for less than 2 months & have yet to come up with a finished product that I'm pleased with - and in reading, I'm beginning to discover why that has been the case thus far. Live & learn (& have fun doing it).

Hey Pebbles, I'm just up in Goodrich, just a mile north of the Oakland County line. Lots of good rocks for the picking in this area!

Thanks for the warm welcome! Wow, I just love this site - so much info & so many wonderful people, too. I'm sure we're gonna become permanent fixtures here.
We started out with one of those little tumblers that you see in the stores around Christmas time. I've always been one to pick up "pretty" rocks and have wanted to try rock tumbling for a long time. So we purchased the one & only tumbler we could find at the time to see what it was like. Within a very short time, we bought a vibe. The first tumbler is already started to break down (you get what ya pay for) & BamBam says we'll be getting a different rotary tumbler sometime in the (near, I hope) future. I use the rotary for shaping & the vibe for the finishing steps.
Well, I did say I wouldn't bore ya with all the details, so I guess that's it for now.
Take care All! Pebbles
