Hello to you all .I have just started this hobby and look forward to getting my FIRST polished rocks out of my machine,a Beech 2lb Tumbler. Well about me I am 63 years old and in Dec 3 2003 I had a very bad Insulin reaction,I was unconsious for 2.5 months them 1.5 in and out of it.Then I spent 4 monthes on the Neurological Rehabilitation Centre where it discovered I had a degree of brain damage.Only thing I could do when I got home was trawl the interner. Then I stumbled on the hobby or tumbled as I am in a wheelchair.I am lloking forward to having many hours polishing and studying rocks. Also thanks Jack(yorkshire) as I am a yorkshireman.

Hi Gordon, Welcome to the RTH forums!! Congrats on your efforts to find something you can do and to continue learning! There's many here who love to help and will be happy to answer questions and help in any way they can. I'm not familiar with Yorkshire so don't know how big it is, is Jack fairly close by? It's nice to have someone you can talk hobbies with. Again, welcome!! Cher

Hey Sands, ya gotta wash the rock dust out of your eyes. I've never seen/heard a penguin go woof woof.
And welcome, Gordon. The guy that runs this board, Mark, is also in England. Quite a few members in the UK now.

Hi and welcome Gordon! Tumbling isn't a very intensive hobby so you should be able to enjoy it without aggrivating any medical conditions. But on the other hand, it does tend to leave a nasty void in the wallet sometimes. Hope you stick around and good luck with the new endeavor!
