Hi folks! I have been digging into the hills near Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. I have found some new outcrops of what is known and sold as Thunder Bay Agate. It is a vein Agate that formed in openings between delaminated sedimentary rocks. The Geological process which formed local Amethyst is closely linked and I have found some Amethyst and Fluorite veins that cut through the Agate. I'll be posting some pictures of this Agate and others soon and also an offer for Trades and Sales will follow too. I hope to hear from everyone with comments or questions.

Welcome to the board CanadianAgate, pictures are greatly welcomed in this board and theres not much rocks posted from Canada. So even better! Cant wait to hear about trade or sales. I love any rock with purple in it. Does this material produce similar patterns like Amethyst Lace?

Hey CanadianAgate, Tweetie had some Thunder Bay amethyst and it was some of the nicest I've seen. Check out her posts.

HI again. I really am encouraged by the responses, so keep them coming. Ron - Nice to meet you and I hope I'll find some pictures of the stuff you found and anything else cool you care to share!! ;D I especially love Lakers and always have the time to look at a few, or hear a story about them. I will check out Tweeties stuff and it sounds I'll like it too. Keep an eye out for Amethyst stuff I dug up and have worked a bit with. Freeform - I should have a "trailmix" offer up for sale/trade in the right forum in a bit. I'm working on it, and want it to be a pound or so lot that represents a chunk or two of the best I can offer. It will cost $4 per pound to everyone but will also be an open trade offer to everyone . I will just have to keep track of the order of who contacts me and keep a relatively sane rate of speed to the trades going out (only becasue I can't afford a load on postage at one time). I have found the smallest amounts of Amethyst veins that cut throught some Agate and fill in the final openings. I hope to find more and keep track of it. I tried to find a picture, but is misplaced I'll share it or make another. Tweetiepy- nice to meet you! Which part of the counrty are you from? I guess you must collect some rocks too? I'm on my way over to check out your Amethyst, see you there...
