While visiting eastern Canada, we gathered some rocks that we would like to tumble. I have read some of the information on the Rock Tumbling Hobby web page. I would like to give rock tumbling a try but I have no equipment or supplies. Where do I need to shop. I would consider used equipment. I live in the Oklahoma City, OK area.

Hi, Welcome to the RTH forums!! One thing really depends on how much you want to spend, you can sometimes get really good deals on used equipment on eBay. I would suggest buying a Lortone or Thumlers, they cost more but last a lifetime. Chicago Electric is ok if you're mechanically inclined as they tend to need fixing quite often. There's been a lot of info ... pro's and con's here on the forum, you can try searching to find more.

Hi, wannabe, and welcome. If all you came to do is stick your toe in the water, beware. This bunch will have you swimming in the surf in no time, and I doubt you could find more helpful and informaive folks.
As for good used equipment, here are the names of a few good six pounders that show up used from time to time
Scott-Murray (I think bought out by Lortone) Star-Diamond Craftool Sears Companion
For anything smaller, I think you would be best advised to stick with Thumlers or Lortone
