Hi Ya'll,
My name is Dale Rhode, I am a 46 year old father of five children 4 sons and one daughter.I only have one son and my little girl at home now. Big change after having 3 teenagers in the house lol. I have been into rocks all my life, from generation to generation. I also love arrowheads and prospecting new deposits, hunting, fishing, camping. I have had a very diverse career during my life, starting out in Law, Cruelty Investigator, then song writing, went to Nashville area for almost 10 years, played nightclubs-tough way to make a living, noooo joke. Factory work, mill work, Paralegal, Police Officer, and for the last 5 years Ebay seller... I am here to become re-aquanted with old rock friends that I have lost touch with, and anxious to meet new friends, share rock digging spots, trade rocks and rock stories, pictures etc... etc... Drop me a line if you want to learn more. TTYL-Dale Rhode

Hi Dale, Welcome to the forum. I don't know what took place before (was gone) but would like to welcome you and give you the chance to show you can be a member in good standing and aren't just here looking for a place to make sales. (Thank gemmaster for my hesitation with sellers.) We need members willing to share their knowledge about rocks and tumbling with the many new people out there trying to learn the ins and outs of the rock tumbling hobby. Cher

Hi Dale, This place is like a breath of fresh air compared to Ebay, be prepared to spend hours with these people, you will find yourself racing to the computer, first stop...........RTH Board, just like I do everyday now. It's all about sharing and caring and that comes naturally for these rockhounders. Makes you give a lot of thought to the bad taste Ebay leaves in your mouth.

Welcome aboard Dale. I know you from E-bay and I've bid on some of your stuff but never have won any. You do have some nice material. Do you know a Cam and Pat Grow from Florence, Oregon? Steve

Hi Jamie, LOL I know exactly what you mean!!! I used to be this way with myspace music, if I had alittle free time I would be on myspace but not anymore, its right here, I really enjoy it and will never let myself get trapped in the bussiness side of rocks again. I broke my own rule I.E. Keepin it fun...So I will focus on less auctions but higher quality so I can get back to the foundation brother/sisterhood of rockhounding... . Hi Steve, Thanks for the welcome too!!! I have had people from Florence stop by the shop before. Its so hard to recall names but I'm pretty good with faces...TTYL-Dale

Hi Dale and welcome to the board. This is a great place to hang out, share info, pics, and friendship. I have been to your web site and was impressed. I enjoyed reading about some of the history of some of the rock and oldtimers. Your respect for these "pioneers" past and present is apparent and admirable. I have won a couple of your auctions, but your ebay store is well trafficed and a person on a fixed income is easilly out bid. My prize from you was some Tahoma Jasper. I bid more than I wanted to, but wanted to see what all the hype was about. I found out. What stunning and beautiful rock! I envy you and many other members who live in the West and Southwest where there are so many areas to dig and collect. Again, welcome to the board. Daniel

Olah Dale, and welcome. This baord is adicting, but like rocks, its a good addiction. Ya my buddies kept pestering me to myspace and i recently did it this year. But only to get feedback on my music becasue "music.myspace" has a decent player that allows myself to here what ive been recording and what i need to fix or adjust. But thats the only benefit i fiind from that place. Its too full of adds and distractions. Though i have found a few bands i dout i would of heard anyplace else.

Hi Daniel, Thanks very much for the compliment...Tahoma is a rock to get just about anyone excited. Its so much fun to cut when one gets a good piece. I do have a deep love for the good hearted old timers that are passing on all to often now...Thanks again Daniel... . Hey Shain,
Ya I messed up major on myspace music. I had no idea it took a totally different format. When I seen myspace music I too thought what a good way to interact with others and also get some feedback on original music. Heck I made my profile and I mean spent hours locating people in the music business. Then Derek was gonna burn me a CD from my Master recording and all be I then found out I needed a totally new myspace. Oh man I was so bummed. Rose Falcon did the exact same thing so I didn't feel so bad lol...But hey man I am really gonna try and make Quartszite this year, I want to try and set up at Desert Gardens. That would be cool if you came down and brought your guitar and will make some noise lol...If there is any Desert Gardens. Someone was telling me that allot of Desert Gardens was sold, do you know anything about it??? Thanks-Dale

Hey Dale, indeed we need to get together and jam for the sake of getting to know eachother again. You can here a song of mine if you visit my about me page at freeformcabs.com
It wouldnt surpise me on DG. It was a real slow show lsat year, even at the Powwow. But i would think they should be selling vendor spots right now. However i have not heard they are shutting it down. As outside of the powow. DG is the only place for rocks really at Quartzsite anymore.

Hi Mel, Ya I am anxious to get to know you as just reading your post you are a true blue rockhounding prospector and thats my kind of folks...Thanks for the welcome. Hi Susan, Ya someday I'll share the stuff that dude pulled on me. Some other sellers were aware of what was going on, he was a total psyhco. I'm just glad that you and me are cool now I truly am and you are one classy lady and rockhound... Hey Shain, lol I am doing this wrong, it just dawned on me I am never gonna get my post up if I do these multi replies lol. I am anxious to hear your song. My speaker is on the blink right now... I can't recall who was telling me about Desert Gardens but they said a bunch of it was gonna be paved and a fancy motel and bigger airstrip...Have you ever been to Electric Park in Tuscon??? Now that is so much like the DG show its hard to tell them apart. Lots of prospectors/miners with wholesale rocks and slabs. We will hook up come Jan 07...Take care-Dale
