I can't imagine why it wouldn't be just fine John. If it keeps your chicken cutlets from sticking to the pan, it should keep your rocks from sticking to the blade. As I was bopping around pricing slab saws, one of the manufacturers even recommended it

Hello John, If it works ... that is all that counts! It would be tough for me to open the lid of my 14" and smell something that resembled chicken. It would cause me to go in the house and thaw out some chicken, start the BBQ and load it up with Mesquite and get a feed on! Now you have done it ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) ... I am going to have to cook some chicken! Enjoy, John

i'm no help here because i don't have a saw big enough to use oil with (yet), but if i did and it smelled like chicken, i wouldn't get much sawing done..

Seriously though, the thing about veg. oil is its organic. It eventually will go rancid, and trust me, that don't smell like chicken ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/shocked.png) cookie

This is really off the wall ...
But back in high school ... I used some cooking oil to give this girl I knew a massage ... and I think it went rancid in minutes ...
There was definitely a smell and it wasn't pretty ... it wasn't me and I just kept telling myself ... she's to d_mn pretty to stink ... she's to d_nm pretty to stink.
Eeeeeeuuuuuugggggggghhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi wiz its a 10 inch blade and i read somewear that 10 inch and larger blades should be used with oil or it heats up the blade too much---i also have a 8inch trim saw i use an additive and water with that and it works fine but im only useing it for trimming slabs mostly so it only cuts about 1/4 inch 99% of the time so it dosent get to heat up

its a 10 inch blade and i read somewear that 10 inch and larger blades should be used with oil or it heats up the blade too much--- Hey John, I've read that too, but I've now slabbed approximately 800 pounds of rock with my 10 incher and my blade still looks like the day I started. And I'm only running water with a little borax added. I'm not sure what I would gain by using oil. Ron

It's an MK Hotdog blade. At least that's what it said on it. See, there's the problem. You guys have been eating chicken, when you should have been eating hotdogs! ;D
