Hi Everyone, Would just like to introduce myself. I have been gathering bits of rock and so on since childhood, but only recently have I been really bitten by the bug. I live in London, not a great place for collecting! But I have just returned from a holiday walking in Andorra with a whole load of new rocks most of which I have no idea what they are, will post some of the more interesting ones later to see if anyone else can help. I have just got myself a tumbler and am about to start my very first batch, fingers crossed I have rambled on too long so bye for now. StephenC

Welcome aboard. Hope you haven't had any problems associated with all the flooding over there. You have joined one of the friendliest, most helpful Forums to be found related to rocks. And as you start posting and reading posts you'll discover some fellow RTHers are not very far from you at all. There are no stupid questions on this Forum but you will find lots and lots of great answers and tips. The "older members" really watch out for us Newbies. Welcome. Welcome. Lady B

G'day Greetings and welcome from one of the colonies! I hope you and your loved ones are keeping your feet dry over there at the moment. There are a few other Poms on the board who will no doubt make themselves known to you at some time. Some free advice with your first tumbles...don't rush your first step. Keep your rocks in coarse until they are as rounded and smooth as you want them to be. Get rid of any pits or rough bits. It may take 6 or more weeks but you will be much happier with the results. Oh yeah, when the bug bites, it bites bad!!! Mike

Hi Steve - fellow newbie and UK rockhead, Norfolk based but don't hold it against me!
Tumblings addictive, hope your enjoying it so far. And well chosen - RTH is the best place worldwide to find fellow rockhunting, tumbling, slabing, polishing gems, and I'm not refering to the rocks - the folks here are really friendly and the information is top class. Have Fun!
