Heya all, my name is Rus. I just recently joined and have spent some time snooping around. I must say that this is an awesome place with great people and a wealth of knowledge. I have been a rockhound my entire life but never spent much time learning how to identify. Just a few months ago, I bought a 3lb Lortone tumbler (still unused, lol) along with several pounds of rough and pre-tumbled stones and 1 coil each of SS, 14k GF (15 foot coils of 22 guage square, each), and Brass practice wire (100 ft coil, square). I have been wrapping since then but haven't been able to get any pics to turn out. I'm working on the photography end of it, so I'll be able to post pics soon, hopefully. Also, I have a 1.5" x .5" piece of gorgeous peacock ore and was wondering if it could be tumbled. If so, what other rocks could be tumbled with it? If not, should I wrap it as is? Any advise/suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Hey Rus, Welcome to the board. Nice to see someone else from Idaho, maybe sometime we could get together and go look for some cool rocks. I have no idea if you can tumble peacock ore, but someone will be along that knows.
Have a great day..................Tony

Howdy Rus & welcome!
I have read that peacock ore is not a good one to tumble...but that's just what I've heard.

Hi sparky, welcome and I'm sure somebody knows the answer to your question. Im still trying to revive my tumbler. It always quits during the second grit...I think its a plot but Im still attempting it!

Welcome to RTH Sparky,
Don't know where abouts in Idaho, you are at, but I went through there a few years ago. Went into Canada. Don't remember exactly where, but I do know I passed through Couer' de Alegn (sp?), if that's any help.
