What a cool website and forum. To begin with, i'm Andrew and I have been at this lapidary thing on and off since i was kid. I'm looking forward to sharing ideas and questions with all of you. I'm not real good at any of the lapidary arts, but have good intentions. My equipment includes: American Facitor, 6" trim saw, 10" tile saw, vibe tumbler, dremel, and a lapper (19"). I have a cool job that keeps me outdoors and takes me all over northern california and nevada. I'm always prospecting to the point I wonder sometimes what my job is. So i've probably said too much so i'm going to check out more of the postings.

Hey Casualguy, Welcome. There are lots of friendly & helpful people on this site if you should have any questions. But it seems you have a good start already. You are a lucky guy to be able to work outdoors and enjoy yourself.. by the way we like pictures and if you have some good spots to find rock you better tell. ;D Raquel

Welcome to the board from another northern Calif member. Are you anywhere near the bay area? Sounds like you've already got the addiction pretty bad.

Howdy and welcome to the board from another Cally rockhound. I split my time between northern and southern California. Great bunch of folks here and lots of knowledge to absorb and good rock pictures to drool over....Mel

Hi casual guy, I'm originally from SoCal & now transplanted to AZ. I still collect quite a bit in SoCal though, & don't know much about NoCal collecting, but there seems to be quite a few here from your area. This is a great place for meeting people & getting terrific info on the lapidary arts. Welcome! Patti

Okay just got off work...i've eaten and alls well. Thank you for all the welcoming comments, and yes I will get some pictures of what i've collected and attempted to cut. When i'm out in the field i'm always digging around and have found some interesting material up in the sierras and out in the high desert of nevada (near elko). Probably jasper or maybe some petrified wood...not sure. So with that said I guess I should get workin on those pictures so someone can tell me what I have.
