Hi.. Newbie here from Va. What a wonderful group of people and information. I have been hiding in the back ground trying to get up the nerve to write. This is a first for me, so be gentle. Still trying to learn the terms. I bought some rough rock from Jamie and she gave me the link here. We're from a one stop light town in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Va. We have been polishing stones for about two years for fun, but in May decided to quit our jobs and try and make a living from it. Scary!!! We do festivals on weekends and so far feeding the animals and paying the bill. What more could you ask for. We still have a lot to learn and it looks like we came to the right place. We do freeform pendants that we dome on both sides. There are no rockhounds nearby, so going to really enjoy your site. Cheryl

Welcome. What part of VD I mean VA are you from? I grew up around the burbs of Washington DC. My brother is still out there, maybe you have heard of him, Don Geronimo from the Don & Mike show on radio. He lives in Great Falls. We were just out there in May on the Harley.

Washington is a little to crowded for us. We still have people that ride horses and tractors to town. After living here, it's to crazy going to the big cities.

Hey! (That's Virginian for hello, isn't it?)
I'm a Hokie. I remember flying those 2-propeller 19-seater planes into Roanoke airport - talk about a steep descent!
Welcome, and congrats on taking the big plunge into being rockhounds for a living. I wish you success!

Hey There Stranger,
I figured this place would draw you in too. Welcome to the board. You will meet some of the most interesting, talented, generous and friendly people here, I'm forever grateful to Sheri for telling me about it when we first met. I remember thinking and actually saying, "I don't have time for a discussion board." Boy was I wrong, its a huge part of my life and I look forward to hooking up with as many RTH-ers as possible whenever there is an opportunity. I'll bet you'll enjoy it just as much.
Welcome to the board.....
