Hello the boards.
I'm Miriel, a rockhound (though the kind that doesn't get too dirty looking for rocks, sorry), and jewelry maker.
I'm studying the historical applications of gems, including jewelry, and medicine and luck charms.
I am currently interested in cutting/cabbing/tumbling my own stones.
Tumbling at first, for now; though I'm investigating cheap ways to polish/cut stones without investing in a $2,000 machine.
got to find the right forum space for my questions on tumblers. thanks for reading!

Hi Miriel and welcome, I am fairly new also and I am sure you will find this group to be the best bunch of people for giving you advice and tips and sharing their latest project for us all to see and admire. There is always some fun contest or competition to take part. I look forward to seeing some of your jewelry creations. Welcome aboard! Mary

Welcome aboard! You're here for the same reason I tumbled into this lovely space. Let's just having the machine (without spending $2000) makes it a whole lot easier, but there's a lot you can do with a tumbler and a tile saw!

Welcome and feel free to ask questions in the general forum where it will get the most views. Also feel free to post images of your work or materials, we all like pics to look at while we read posts. ;D
