Hi all, I've got a Lortone 33b Tumbler and was curious as to how often do I need to clean the unit? Also, how often do I need to oil the bearings and such? I have only finished about 4 batches complete, and I think I have over oiled it, because it's getting pretty dirty. Hopefully I haven't ruined it already. Thanks for helping a newbie... ::)CONFUSED STILL Steve

Duckbean, Thanks for the welcome. I'll try posting it elsewhere. I think I may try to send it back to Lortone, because the motor wll sometimes stop as well. Hopefully I haven't done something I wasn't supposed to do....Tumblers should be fairly simple.....DOH! Steve

It may be you need to tighten up the belt!on most lortones it's pretty easy, just three cap nuts or two nuts on others.

I wipe mine down once a month, and mine get pretty oily, I oil my rollers about everyother day a drop or 2 on every one. I also have my tumblers sitting on a piece of roofing liner which catches the oil that drips off so it don't get my bench all oily, you can see in the pic. how oily the outside ends get, just wipe them down with an old rag like an old holey sock...

The Porter House is a victorian house in Decorah Iowa. It's in the north eastern part of Iowa, not to far from me. It has one of the most unusal rock wall fences. I am going to have to go on a road trip this summer and check it out. It is also the same town where Laura Ingalls Wilder grew up in the 1850's. It's a really beautiful town! I have been there a couple of times, but not for site seeing, just winter skiing! Hope this helps you Banjo and gives you a sense of what and where this is located! In the state of the Field of Dreams...LOL!

The names were a result of, all the barrels being full and nothing to do, kinda being bored, and my 12 y.o. daughter asked if she could name them.

I'd be tempted to chip off a little piece of history on Laura Ingall Wilders fence! LOL
