Do those of you who use a vibe for the polishing stages use pellets? I'm at the end of the coarse grit tumble of my first-ever batch (I'm so excited!!), and I'm wondering if I should run out and buy some. The directions for my tumbler don't mention pellets, but I noticed that many folks on this list use them.
By the way, I'm so glad I found this forum -- it's great!
Thanks, Fran

Fran, Welcome to the board. I have LotOTumbler vibes and I use the plastic pellets in the last stages from 500 grit thru the polish stage. My rubber barrels hold 4 1/2 lbs of stones so I add about 1 - 1 1/2 cups of pellets per load. As discussed by others earlier, I use separate pellets for each stage, rinsing, and reusing them. I keep them labelled in plastic containers: 500, 1000, TO. ed/cuervo

This is a little late, but I use plastic pellets in all stages, I have a Thumblers UV-10. I get awesome results. I also use a separate bowl for the polish stage.
