Dadgummit....I never get good search results. I searched for "saving polish" here and got nothing but I'm SURE it was here that I read that you can let used polish dry out and re-use it?
I poured the polish (Aluminum oxide) out of the barrel and into a clean plastic bowl and it now sits in a cabinet with the water slowly evaporating.
If I do re-use it, do the people here in the know suggest that I use some of the "old" polish and then charge the barrel with a bit of "new" polish for the next tumble?
Thanks in advance! )

I just put the pellets and polish in a plastic bowl and when I do a new batch I use the old pellets with the polish on them to fill barrel and add a bit of new polish and I am off and running Works good for me hope this helps

I normally use only 1 1/2 Tbsp polish. I'll use 1 Tbsp of the old and 1/2 Tbsp of the new. There is someone on here that leaves the polish in the barrel completely - just adds new stones...but I can't remember who!

Hi I use my old polish continualy just adding a 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of new each time,
I dont dry it out just store it in a tall bottle and let it settle and pour of the excess water the remaning thick soup is just about the right consistancy for the polishing cycle

I reuse old polish- heck there are times where I don't even add any new stuff to it- I try to keep about 2 tbsp of polish in the barrel- so I really only add new stuff about every 2nd or 3rd run!

Ummm are you supposed too??? Yea I have a whole little system for my Polish recovery efforts- probably a lot more complicated than it needs to be- but It gives me a good excuse to play in the shop!
