Today I was looking at tumblers, still weighing the pros and cons. I looked at a 4 lb Lot-o tumbler that was interesting and I noticed there's a dual version with two matching barrels side by side for a 9 lb total. I can see how that would be useful. Has anyone used one of these? I've read the single barrels should be run full to reduce noise. Is it any louder than the single barrel model when only one barrel is in use?
Next I checked out a Gy-Roc B. My older son's comment was "Mom it looks like a potty chair." Trust a teenager to find the most endearing trait of anything. I have to admit it doesn't look like anything I expected. But I'm not buying a tumbler for how it looks but for what it does. The Gy-Roc B isn't cheap for it's size. It's $189 but for only $19 more I could add a "piggy back" barrel putting it in the same price range as the dual Lot-O. (Also, a spare 3rd barrel for the Lot-O is $28 but a 3rd for the Gy-Roc is only $10.) Basically for the Gy-Roc B you get a second barrel and 4 bungie type straps to hold it on top of the first barrel and you can even strap a 3rd on top of that. How well does that work? Has anyone tried it? Does enough vibration actually get to the second barrel to do much good? There's other attachments for the Gy-Roc too but I didn't look too close lest I might want those too. I think one was a vibrating lap attachment but again would there be enough vibration from the tumbler to actually make it work?
I know it will be a long time before I can afford to buy more equipment so I know I better find something that will keep me happy for awhile.
