Does anyone have any opinions between notched rim diamond blades compared to continuous rim diamond blades? It is hard to get any real world info on the two when all the adds say that either one is the "best blade money can buy". I have a 12" slab saw, and my buddy and I are partners on a an 18" slab saw and are looking at new blades. I have a notched rim on the 12" and a continuous on the 18". The notched requires more dressing, while the continuous rim is a real workhorse requiring little attention. Now, I know that the surface area of the two blades is quite a bit different, but the rocks we cut are proportional to the blade size. Any thoughts on the two diffferent diamond blades??? Thanks, JPS

I have a 12 inch lortone. When I bought it there was a notched blade on it. After thousand of cuts I have bought a new Mk 297. Overall I think the notched blade cuts faster. I was really happy with it. The jury is still out on the continuous blade 297 I bought. But I always hear you get what you pay for. The notched blades are always more expensive, but with any luck the 297 will last as long or longer.
