I was going through some of my "junk" today and came across a couple of wooden golf tees. Just as I was thinking, "what good are these? I don't golf!", it occurred to me. Wooden golf tees look like they would make great little dop sticks! Now, these ones in particular don't seem to be very high quality and they don't exactly turn true so I would be a bit leary about using them for fine work. I'm sure there are better ones that would turn true and would be great for dopping smaller stones though. Is anyone actually doing this already or at least tried it before?

I Have heard of them being used befor
I think any thing that is handy for holding the cab is used ,
I have used nails, having grinded the points off first , wood dowels , small aliminum pipes.anything that comes to hand , but the shape of the tees are nice to handle and hold the stone well

If any one wants a specific shape of dop stick let me know. I'm sure I could turn them very easily. Haven't made any for myself yet, but then again I've only finished 3 cabs so far.

It figures that all the good ideas have already been taken though. At least it's good to know I was thinking along the right lines and didn't turf them.
