Awwww Right! Now I can start cutting! I went down to Lowe's and bought a 7" tile saw with Christmas money! It's a start... now I can't wait to get a good grinder and belt sander.
I will go out to my rock box and select some good stone to cut!

Just know you're itching to get started. In selecting your rock, don't pick one of your best. I've ruined a lot of good material in my beginning days. Just take your time, there is a lot to learn before you can make beautiful cabs from that perfect piect of KY. Agate you've been saving. Have fun!!!

It really helps to get a 1/2pt paper cream container. Fill it with plaster of paris, insert the stone to be cut. You have four flat sides and something solid to hold on to.

Thanks for the tip! I'd never have thought of that, but I'll try it out!

That`s like the saw i got from lowes mine does a pretty good job trimming slabs but that`s what i wanted,i started cutting soft rocks like old bricks until i caught on how to use it.however i did put a piece of plexiglass with a bunji cord wrapped around it to keep some of the water off of me.......Rocky

I have a friend with a 30" slab saw, and he lets me use it for my slabbing. I think the little tile saw will do fine for my needs. I think I will feed the slabs from the rear to avoid the spray.
