Ok,
How about this - a board to talk about things like politics, or - like the case of some thread or other - a place to continue the debate?
This way - I dont get seen as a "moderator" - as I **hate** that - and things can get sorted out in a section separate to the actual "Rocks" sections.
Sound smooth?
Andy.

Sorry Andy, I'm not always "politically correct". But as long as we have this category now, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Al Gore for inventing the internet!

Oh, Andy, I have really been trying to pretend you didn't really open a new board with the title of Politics. Kept telling myself I was just seeing things! But, finally caved it and had to come over and check it out. You are a smooth dude - and were even before you did this! Look up politically incorrect in the dictionary and you will find a picture of ME! Ron, I would add my thanks to Bore, er, Gore, for the invention of the internet too! And what a shame he didn't get elected so that he could get started on doing away with internal combustion engines within 20 years, as he desired. ;D llana

I like the new title "Life, the Universe, and Everything" much better than "politics". It's a lot cuter and catchier, and solves the problem of what if you want to post comments that are related to neither rocks nor politics? Andy could have ended up with half a hundred sub-forums!

Done good Andy. Great idea. If any posts pop in the tumbling you can just slide them here and we can sound off. I agree with your feelings on moderator. More like a friend we have never met. Thanks Andy.

I have almost 300,000 two wheel miles under me in the last ten years. AC/DC is a great band to listen to, especially when you want to get some uumph in what you are doing. I prefered SLADE but AD/DC works. I also make jewelery for Billy Idol and his band members. The Ankh with the gemstone is my design. I once rode from Barrow Alaska to Key West Fl., on two wheels, in seven days in 1992. Floyd is my mainstream but when I burn out on Floyd, I do Deep Purple, Doors, Tangerine Dream. Early Genesis, ELP, CSN&Y, Harry Chapin, I love heroin addict music, and of course YES. My wife gets high strung on YES. I started with JD&Co and recorded with them, and NRPS.

Back in my new young corporate days, I went to London. I got to get really loaded at quite a few really seedy bars. I vaguely remember getting really drunk, hiring a cab and getting really confused, especially driving on the wrong side of the road! The cabby and I got really drunk and I had to drive and I not only did not know where I was, I was not sure where I belonged, nor how to get there. I got really messed up with the right hand drive, and driving on the wrong side of the road. I went down a small brick kinda road that went through a building. Never made it back, missed the lecture I was supposed to give, and made a lot of people mad at me when I spoke to them on the street. I was absolutely impressed at how much contempt the blue collar working class had for Americans, and how quick they were to use their fists. I was definately impressed. The cab got pushed over, I got beat half to death, and they set fire to the cab. My watch got stolen, my clothes got tattered, my wallet was taken. I suspect I might have said something, being that drunk it is quite possible. I do not remember anything except the bruises afterwards.

They talk funny there also. Couldn't understand an awful lot. They used a lot of colloquielistic language with their local accent. I was totally lost. The hardest part was driving on the wrong side of the road all the time.

i really tried to learn one holiday, scuffed up my right hand something fierce trying to "shift" with my right hand into the door! shifting with the left hand did not come natural, thank goodness the pedals on the floor aren't reversed as well!
i think the most embarrassing is getting gas (petrol) and getting into the wrong side of the car and then pretending you MEANT to get in that side to find the map or something..
my driving on the"wrong side" ended in a lesson that involved a traffic cop and a roundabout, i was feeling fairly confident with my British driving at that point, came to a left hand turn and took it as an American right..oops..over corrected at the last minute and the traffic cop took a dodge into the hedgerow..!! i asked my new husband "what do i do now?" and he said FLOOR IT, got to the driveway where we were staying and i swore off Brit driving for ever after.
