They just showed some film snippets of some area in Michigan where the snow is up to the hoods of cars!!!!! Pretty to look at but sure am glad I don't have to live in it. Made me cold just looking at it! Ron, you better check in with us frequently, so we'll know you are alive and kickin' and not buried in a snow bank somewhere! llana

Hey Llana, if the snow is dry and fluffy it really isn't bad. I've driven through snow drifts here that my 4x4 Chevy went completely under. When it gets bad is when it warms a little and then freezes again. Then you hit the snow drift, start up over it, break through the crust, and then call for a tow.
Second year in my house they had to close my road for a week. A 50 yard section of road was buried under a huge 15 foot drift.

Yeah, I remember that light and fluffy snow from when I lived in Crested Butte. It is nice and lots of fun to play/ski in. I also remember what it was like when the days were warm and sunny and the nights way down below freezing. Roads and ski slopes were just a sheet of ice. I didn't mind it so much when I was younger, but now that I'm gettin' to be an old geezer, I just can't stand the cold. My feet and hands are cold all the time! I have been known to wear gloves in the house because my hands get so cold.
My weatherbug says it suppose to be 18 degrees tonight, but I will stay nice and warm in the house. And thankfully, I don't have to get to work until about 10AM in the morning, so it should warm up a little before I have to get outside.

I do miss those White Christmases I had in Colorado.

I wish we had some snow over here.
Just drizzle rain at the moment.

Hey Andy, I actually really like the snow and winter weather, for a while. Problem is, it just hangs on so loooooong here. I vote for winter to only last one month!

Hey Llana, that's colder than it got here last night. Of course, if it did get down to 18 degrees here at night, I would be lucky if it had raised up to 19 degrees by 10:00 am. Plus the wind chill probably would have been about -18 degrees. The wind blew hard here last night.

4 below here this morning. All that snow went about an hour directly east of here. it's a nasty snow belt. Although the snowmobliers and skiers are probably happy. I tried all the winter activities just to try to get the season to pass faster. All mine are indoors now. I'm completely happy not leaving the yard for a week or two in the winter time.

LLana, you have weaterbug? Run Spybot and watch what happens to weatherbug. I lived in snow drifts in Alaska. I can tell you, it is comfortable living when you know how to do it. We would burrow into a drift, roll out our stick bed. That is a roll of sticks about 1" in dia tied together to make a bedroll. When we wanted a change in scenery we would move to another drift. We used to get the inside to about 40degrees before it would start to slush up inside. It got -65 outside, and it would be 38 to 40 inside. Never got sick untill I got into warm buildings with people. Weatherbug is a no-no for people who value their privacy on the internet.
