i was very sad to hear that Johnny Carson died today.
i read in the Weekly Telegraph (the paper for expats) that Strawberry Fields will be closing. (that was the orphanage that John Lennon wrote the song about.)
time marches on.

A touch of Grey! I wake up, and think I am 20, or 25 anyway. I take my first step, and things do not work like they used to. Time marches on, I query, If this is my last chance, did my words mirror my heart? Did I tell someone something they could use? Did I make a small difference? I look back, see what I miss, and hope I recognise another chance, no matter how small.

Johnny Carson, it seems like that was so long ago! I just haven't been able to get into the "Tonight Show" since he retired. St. Peter will welcome him.

And Gabriel will say "Heeeerrrre's Johnny!" God speed. My 8 year old step daughter decided she really likes CSNY today. She's been a Beatles fan since she was three. Maybe there's hope for the future. Maybe we can see the torch stay lit for a while longer. Maybe we made a difference. I hope so.

Does your daughter know, most of Stephan Stills music was emotionally fractured co-dependant come back to me music for Judy Collins? Buffalo Springfield was different, that is the heart of the sixties. The time when we tried to make a difference, before we got manuvered by the left, and things got muddled by politics. But ten, I think we were too inexperienced to see the trends and enact changes when they would make a difference. Now that we are over 30, no one younger trusts us, by our own credo, and they think we are as stuck in the past as we thought those who spoke then, warning us were. There's something happenin here, what it is ain't exactly clear..........

I haven't had any news on today, so I didn't know that Johnny had passed away. That makes me sad. I feel like I've just found out about the passing of a friend.
What happened to him? Had he been ill? He was definitely a 'one of a kind'!

"Does your daughter know, most of Stephan Stills music was emotionally fractured co-dependant come back to me music for Judy Collins?" No, she doesn't know that. But she understands "emotionally dependent come back to me" from her mother. Maybe that's why she likes it. I'd like to think otherwise. To an 8 year old, it's just pretty. And what I'm trying to do is relate in real world terms to people under 30. And they like me so sometimes they listen. Yeah, my mothers voice keeps coming out of my mouth, no matter how hard I try. But some of that is good. Maybe rephrased. I'm old enough to have been the magority of my employees , uh, aunt, but they think I'm cool and sometimes they listen. And I try to listen too, and understand. I just try to spread the light...

Underneath the what it was really about, was an heart of sensitivity, hope, forward looking, responsibility, accountability, and reaching out to another human being. At least that is what I thought the '60's were about. I could think of worse music to listen to. Could it be, they might be able to take up where we wanted it to go? Could they, through our experience, take it where we hoped it would go?

I kinda figuired that Cookie. However underneath it all is the emotionally fractured disfunctional broken heart seeking a repitition of the past! Every time I was near Stephen, I wanted to ask him if he wanted some cheese with his whine! They all could play a mean guitar, and a lot of the lyrics are based on Bavarian Folk music. That was one of the things that made the difference in the first album. You hadda been there. I have never had so much fun and heard such great music. Those were the days. I hope the younger hopes today, can take it and make it blossom the way it should.

I'll miss Johnny as he was a class act. I can't stand to even look at Letterman and Leno is nothing to brag about either. The one that really gets me is that Connan O'Brian is supposed to be the one replacing Letterman when he leaves! Connan must have caught the right person coming out of the wrong place!! Am I in trouble ,,,,,,,,,,,,,again? Tom ;D
