I'm back to work and don't have much time at all to enjoy our group.
By the time I'm finisher playing with my rocks it's about 8-9pm and that doesn't leave much time for "visiting".
I've been popping in and outwhen I can but there's no way I can keep up with all the posts.
Some of you have amazed me with your talent and creativity in making jewelry! Please don't think I have slighted anyone by not complimenting you personally but I just don't have the time to do it.
I see a lot of the same questions being asked by the "newbies" and it makes me feel good to see group members who didn't know squat about tumbling a short time ago, helping the newbies with their problems!!
Before you know it theyll be making jewelry and answering questions!!
LOL,,,,,From trying to get a shine,,,,,any kind of shine on any kind of rock,,, to selling jewelry and cabs on Ebay,,
Whooda thunk it!!
I started playing with an idea of making mini wind chimes to hang off of the rear view mirror of a car.I was in the middle of making a small copper ricg the size of a nickle when my grandson Mike came down and asked if we could check"his" tumbler (1-1/2 lb Lortone)
What could I say?
I try to let him do as much as a 7 year old can without making a disaster area out of the shop but sometimes he gets a tad aggressive.Tonight, while trying to drain off the slurry from the barrel into a 2 lb coffee can he missed by about 3" !! Waaahoooo what a mess. All over the bench and all over Mike!!!He wasn't to happy about having all that gray muck all over himself but maybe next time he'll be a little more careful!! LOL I couldn't help laughing and that didn't set too well with him either!!
The rocks went into a #500 grit tonight and he's all excited about how nice they look already.A few more weeks and he'll have his first ever batch of polished rocks!!
Well I'll see ya when I see ya!!
