You should not read any further if you do not want to hear anything related to political discussion. Hunter died recently. He was different and sometimes that is a good thing. The artical below is typical of his work. Most of us probably never heard of him but he was a journalist and writer who injected himself into the story...I did not always agree with him but he was quite provocative. His best known work is probably "Fear and Loathing in La Vegas" which is a weird story ( and weird movie with Johnny Depp and Benecio Del Toro ). It depicts Hunters life seemingly well. Some of you may be offended by the link below. Do not touch it if you idolize the President and believe we invaded Iraq to make it safe for Democracy...It was written long ago, before the election, after Thompson had come out of spinal surgery. Ignore the beginning about the Kobe case and go to the paragraph the starts, "When I went into the clinic last April 30, George Bush was about 50 points ahead of his closest Democratic opponent in next year's Presidential Election". espn.go.com/page2/s/thompson/030722.html# or this one about the hockey strike sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news;_ylc=X3oDMTBqdGgyMXV0BF9TAzI1NjY0ODI1BHNlYwNlY2w-?slug=dw-mailbag022205&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

so why did the guy take the pipe? any insight on that? he obviously was IN pain before the operation, but not anymore?
i think i read Fear and Loathing about a million years ago. it was boring. i didn't know they'd made a movie..which just goes to show you how "in the know" i am. too busy grinding rocks.
