OK, so not all of you remember Arlo Guthrie and the Group W bench, but me and hubby were on the equivalent at the New York State Capitol's Homeland Security buiding today. very swish looking building from the outside, modern, black glass and brick, but man! the inside is the same old institutional green and beige hollow metal frames of the 1950's insane asylums and Department of Motor Vehicle Buildings that we've all spent way too much time in lines in.
THE GOOD NEWS IS (after driving hours and waiting HOURS more) is that he passed the interview and history test, we got all the i's dotted and proper t's crossed...on July 15th he takes the Oath and becomes a citizen of the US of A!!!!
this is good news for us and it's been a long road (we started this process last November). even tho he's had his green card for the past 20 years, things have changed since 9-11 and now we are close to where they can never take him away from me!

KD, good for the two of you. Bravo, and sleep in peace. I was born in this country, fought in Viet Nam, and because I am Native American, whatever that means, I still cannot walk down the street without getting my teeth knocked out, and my pockets picked by those responsible for maintaining peace. When it comes to citizenship, I believe it should be earned, and your husband has earned his. He knows the price I paid, and so do you. I met Arlo, and was at Alice's Resteurant (sp?) back when it all happened. I was at Yale, trying out for Skull and Bones fraternity when the Panthers took over the presidency, and Fighting Father Flanagan was doing his thing in down town New Haven. I watched Jim Morrison get arrested in the New Haven Arena. To you and your Husband, I salute you! Old Hippies do not die, they just smell that way.

How did you make those letters that large? I mean wow. Those are large letters. The little green lizards look like what the Electricals try to be like, when they are not just sparks that make smoke and fire. Those large letters are definately big.
