I tried it also. It found first time, 247,000 files it deleted. Now I do have to reload my passwords, and I scanned it with adaware and it does download spyware. Freware, sometimes has a price. "puter is getting up faster however. It had a lot of clutter.

You can check for temp files by using the file find feature of windows (start, find files or folders). Just search for *.tmp the * indicates a wildcard so anything can be there. It's good to take a look now and then and clean them out.

There is also a recent folder that gets filled with junk, you can delete the files but not the folder if you need to clear up space The problem with most of the free software out there is you pay for it in one way or another, meaning that it is full of spyware.. Bob

couple hrs ago i ran my ad-awear then ran the cleanup and then the ad-awear again and there wasent any spywear to clean out -- but i ran it right after i ran the clean up so maybe it didnt have a chance to get in there but it showed 0 spywear -- so im thinkin even if it throws acouple spywears back in after a cleanup i can live with that cause after it got out 8000 files i didnt need or want its my new buddy hahaha

I've been using Cleanup for about 6 months now. it is great. It gets rid of all the content files that windows accumulates while you are on the web. Those are files that are kinda hidden on your computer and just taking up space and viruses can attach themselves to content files.
It also empties your recycle bin, deletes your recent viewed files, empties your temp internet files.
It doesnt have any spyware attached to the program that i have ever seen. It is not going to catch any spyware you have on your computer, its not that type of program. But its great at getting rid of your hidden files.
I usually use that and adaware and I usually dont have any probs.

Defragmenting is good for the 'puter. When a program is closed, it leaves fragments behind. Sooner or later, it takes longer and longer to load the main program. With windows 98, and XP, there is also a disc repair program with the defragmenter. Basically, the windows defragmenter is good for defragmenting windows. It makes the 'puter as quick as when it was first set up. Excpet for the virus that Bell loaded into our 'puter when we hooked it up in Los Angeles. We turned it on, signed online, and got a virus. That was a pain in the neck and we had to use alternate sites to contact Microsoft who referred us to India for customer service. That was weird. WE had a brand new Norton for start up, and starting up, we downloaded a virus hooking up our modem. There are bad dogs out there.
