Probably old news to many of you but there are two free programs I run at least weekly(to supplement my Anti_Virus program). They are:
1) SpyBot Search and Destroy 2) Ad-Aware by Lavasoft
They find those nasty little programs that spy on your every mouse click on the internet and report your every movement back to God knows who or what knd of BIG BROTHER...may not make much difference but I don't think it can hurt...csroc

I wouldn't be without them myself along with AVG anti-virus program and ZoneAlarm keeps me safe from the boogies out there. And they are all FREE ... FREE ... FREE ... I like free! *smile*

i run spybot stuff regularly, always have some fastclick crap on here. Norton saves me from the real bad stuff out there.
technology does have it's drawbacks. but i couldn't imagine life without the internet at this point.

Life without the internet! Hmmm I remember that- No rock tumbling boards just tumbling, no metal detecting boards- just metal detecting- no online shopping- just stores and catalogs- no hackers, just kids playing outside- no google, or ask jeeves, or yahoo, or MSN- just encyclopideas and libraries- no free porn, just dirty magazines hidden behind sheets of wood behind the counter- No stupid machines telling us that they need to update, or download or whatever-

cher would there be any reason to not delete them? these are the ones: cometsystems, alexa, altnet, and tracking cookie (each one has more than 1 file under it for a total of 61).

Tks Cher and Jim, I've got a couple of new tools in my arsenal, AVG, ZoneAlarm & Panda...I pay for either Norton or Symantec anti virus every year...maybe I'll try the free route here too... I got on the Internet real early in the game because of work and can remember (I guess it's too long ago and the details are kinda hazy) when there was just university and then maybe some Government web sites. Mostly newsgroups and great forums for discussion , it was simple....then Porn(a huge explosion of web traffic) then people trying to make a buck(explosion gets nuclear). I didn't mind that to much but now...There are always a..holes who try to ruin a good thing. I cannot understand that those who get their jollies by ruining others experiences with virus's, spam mailings an popups, pivacy intrusion, , and tracking and spyware etc.
