Not sure but might depend on what kind of gold you're selling like is it gold dust you've panned or old rings or scraps or gold coins or ....
My best suggestion is to do some searches relating to what kind of gold you're selling.
Try something like (using gold dust as an example) "we buy gold dust" with the quotes or "selling gold dust".

Momma, what kind of gold? Being as you have an internet connection, refiners purchase gold and either pay, or trade. Pawn shops purchase gold. Jewelers do not as a rule purchase gold. There is too high a risk of contamination using old gold. Gold being porous, absorbs chlorides, salines, and stearates. Remelt gold gets brittle, and undergoes unpredictable colour changes. You can also refine your own gold. Go to Ishor and look under their gold refineing equipment. I plan on purchasing their unit in the future.

You might try contacting the Gold Prospectors Assoc. of America for help in this department. 909-699-4749 or their website is www.goldprospectors.orgPho

GoldProspectors org will get you some contacts! Also there is a good market for nuggets and gold on quartz on ebay! Some of the nicer stuff sells for better than spot! Depending on how much you have you can have it assayed (google assay Montana) and sell it to refiners (careful cause the Government want their income tax on that) Also be careful because a lot of mines have claims on them and taking stuff and selling it is stealing! BTW Black sand is pretty much worthless in itself- But is a good indicator of gold bearing areas- Congrats on your finds!

Thanks for the info everyone. So black sand means you are close to finding the BIG load? Is that what that means? What is Flower gold? Never herd of it till yesterday. How do we really know that we found the BIG load. I do know that withen one hour we were able to fill a small vial with some black sand and some small nuggets. Is that good?

Great! I love it. Panned gold is 22Kt. If you can seperate the gold from the sand, and seperate the pieces, you can melt them together. Get a crucible, some borax, and a propane torch. Melt into a puddle and remove before it is cool enough for the flux to solidify. Keep melting in gold untill you have a large batch. The sand will float to the top, the other contaminants will float off. Use pool acid, or PH decreaser for pools, and pickle the "button". Keep doing this for a while. Soon you will have a large button that can be alloyed down to 14Kt. I can tell you how to do this once you have a few ounces. With 14Kt, you can make a decent ring from a casting. Meantime, a pawn shop will purchase un assayed gold, or a refiner will refine and send either cash, or gold alloyed to your specs. They keep a percentage for their costs. You might try Myron Tobak in Brooklyn NY, or other refiners from the internet. Ishor is another one.

You will always find black sand where you find gold..but you may not find gold where you find black sand. If you have some quartz with gold in it..it is worth more as a collectors item than it is for the gold content. Nuggets and quartz with gold in it are a good bet for ebay. Flour gold is very fine stuff and it takes a lot of it to make an ounce. Nuggets are worth more by themselves than as part of a vile or other measurement. If I remember right, there are places in Alaska that will buy gold nuggets for a fair price but I just do not recall the names of those places. Again,,the GPAA is a good starting point. If you can, please take some pics and post them here.
