I am SOOOO mad, I just gotta rant before I have a stroke!
Ya'll know I fried my laptop a few weeks ago. When it first happened I called HP tech service and told them what happened. They said to send the laptop in for a diagnostic test - to the tune of $298. The next day I talked to a computer guy and he told me since I spilled sweetened tea on it, it would be more expensive to fix it than get a new one. So, I called HP back that evening and cancelled the work order on mine.
When I called and cancelled I discovered that had charged me $318, NOT $298 like they said. They told me they would send me a Fed Ex box to pack in it and that the shipping would be free. I asked THREE times exactly what I would be charged and each time was told $298 with free shipping. Well, since I was actually charged $318, apparently the shipping wasn't free!
Anyway, I told them to cancel the order and not the ship the box cause I wasn't going to send the laptop to them. Then asked when my $318 would be refunded. They told me Monday. On Monday I called the bank - no $318. On Tuesday, no $318. I called HP and ask when the money would be refunded. They said it had to go through their system in France and it would probably take about a week. A week later, no refund. I called HP again, this time talked to a "refund specialist" who told me it would be 15 to 20 days because it had to go through their "system" - in France.
So, they have lied to me about what they were charging me, then lied to me about when I would get the refund.
I'm pissed. Not only because of their dishonesty, but because each time I call, I have to speak to someone who can't speak English worth a crap. Today I go to the back - still no $318 after 25 business days. I am biting nails the 13 miles home cause I am so mad. Called them again as soon as I walk in the door and discover that even though the "refund specialist" said I would get me refund in 15-20 day, she didn't even turn in a refund order so NOTHING has been done.
Needless to say, I am LIVID. I told the guy I was talking to that I wasn't upset with him personally, but I wanted my money back and I wanted it NOW! He did whatever it is they do and told me it would be in the bank in about two minutes. Of course, the bank was already closed, so I couldn't find out if it actually was or not.
After I talked to him I decided to call the HP office in Houston - hoping to speak to someone who actually spoke and understood English. Talked to guy that actually spoke English! Told him why I was upset and that I was tired of their messing me around about this and that I wanted it taken care of NOW. He apologizes and says he wants to kick it upstairs upper management to make sure it gets taken care of. Put me on hold and I hold and hold and hold until a message comes on that everybody is busy and please leave my name and phone number and they will call me back before the end of the working day. Well, their working day ends at 6:00 PM and it's 5:53 and I ain't heard a word from them.
Although I have had no complaints with any HP product I have ever had - 2 printers, a fax, laptop, ink cartridges for the printer/fax - I will never buy another thing from them! If this is an example of their customer service, they sure as hell have lost a customer!
Needless to say, I am writing them a letter and letting them know what think of their customer service and that I will never buy another HP product.
And, if that money is not in my bank account Monday I am calling an attorney friend of mine in Houston and see how I can go about filing charges of theft against them. As far as I'm concerned, they have stolen $318 from me and I'm not gonna sit still for it. I am also going to tell everyone I know about what they have done and recommend that NO ONE buy a thing from HP ever again.
Don't think this rant helped! I'm still ready to throw a brick - just hope I don't see any kind of HP commercial on the TV or the TV might be a goner!!!!
