My brother called this morning to tell me my sister-in-law was killed in a head on collision sunday afternoon. The other guy crossed the center line to avoid a 10 car pile up and hit her. Freda was the best sister a guy could ask for. She was always there for me to help me out of any scrape I got in and always had a kind word of encouragement for me. The last time I saw her was when Freda and my brother flew out to Vegas to watch us get married. She was a very smart, understanding, easy going, get-a-long with everyone kind of woman. Freda could hold a conversation with Mel Gibson, or the President, or she could have a good conversation with a truck driver, like me. I will be flying out to Washington D.C. friday morning for a few days and for the funeral. Please hit the link below to see this great person, I speak of. There are many of these as the news is let out about this, but this is one of the first, they have some audio of her starting the show. I love and miss you, Freda. RIP www.eastcoastbob.com/dnm.html

E-Dog- Man that just plain old SUCKS--- Sudden deaths like that just hit way bellow the belt and there is no comfort in it- Rest assured she is in a better place looking down on you and your family and smiling! Death is but the affirmation that life is short and needs to be treasured- Be not sad in your own loss but rejoice in a life well lived and journey to a much greater adventure!

Awe...I am sorry to hear your sad news...sigh. She looks as tho she was a beautiful person inside and out. Life is like walking on a path. You never know whats around the bend. From my experiences with death in my own family and friends, I realize you will never understand the why. Just take comfort in the because....It's very hard to let go of the ones we love, but they are always alive in our memories and hearts of hearts. Her time here on earth was completed and she is needed in the next life. She hasn't gone very far, as she is just on the other side now. You will see her again one day...

Thank you all for your kind words. You people alone choke me up. Freda was a one of a kind person, I am so glad she had an impact on my life why she was with us. Again, thank you all very much. And thank you for being my other family.

Just a note. Don is returning to the Don and Mike Show Monday, August 1. He will be alone for the first hour. That should be a particularly poignant hour. It's got to be really hard for him to return to the air as his wife was such a large part of his on air life. It will be good to have him back though. My thoughts are with him.
