Last night we got a fantastic electrical storm - light show and everything, everytime my husband would open the curtains to check outside, lightning would strike not so far away and he's scamper away from the window (yes I said scamper - if he ever got a boat, he'd have to christen it "Chickenshit") anyways, the wind was pretty wicked too - nothing compared to what you got in Florida, but still pretty windy. We have a gazebo (for a lack of a better word - it is a tubular four sided structure with a canopy to give a little shade from the sun, that keeps blowing away in the wind - hubby hates it and wants one with the forged steel corners instead with a double roof to prevent wind from blowing it away. It's already been blown away twice this year but survived with no bent posts *hubby growls at stupid shelter - & wishes it would die*
Well as I was preparing for bed & just as hubby is about to open the door to the deck, a great splash of water gushes on the door he was about to open *that would have been hilarious had he opened the door - darn* which means a gust of wind has lifted the canvas enough to shed the water - well this time it is really dead, one of the posts has bent (which I could replace if I REALLY wanted to but the canvas itself has ripped beyond repair *hubby claps wildly in amusement at death of canopy* It has served its purpose well for these past 5 years, kept thinking it would die sooner than that - surprised that it lasted this long - the underside is forest green, the top is a light minty green.
Don't expect to be getting another this year - but I do have A/C (thank goodness) but this thing at least brought the temp down by a good 10 degrees in its shade - I told hubby he could at least try to act a little sad
