Wanna here sompin stupid?

I am well aware that I have a reputation for "dummying up", but today I think I out did myself. I unlock the door at work about 30 minutes before actually opening the store every day so I have time to tend to the opening duties. On entering the building I lock the door behind myself. Today I came in through the front door but I normally come through (and unlock) the side door, so I pulled the keys out so I could open the side door at 10:00. At 9:50 I decided to go ahead and open the store, turned on the lights and the music, and couldn't find the keys! I back track myself over and over, but to no avail. At 10:00 people were looking through the windows wondering what the problem was and I'm yelling through the crack in the door "I've lost my keys, I'm locked in! I'll open when I find them." I posted a sign to that effect and continued to search. As I walked around the store, retracing my steps, I was picking up paper and such from the floor and on entering the stock room, tossed it in the garbage can there.
AHHH HELLL.
Yep, the keys were in the garbage can.
Does it get any more embarrassing?
