Kids say the darndest things....
My neighbors had a party yesterday and invited some interesting people. My 4 year old daughter spotted, or heard this lady talking..... she walks up to my wife and asks "why does that lady talk like a man?"
My wife at a loss what to say whispers something or another. My daughter starts getting excited, so she talks even louder - Why does that lady talk a man! Oh boy, I wish I was there to see it. But, I was at home doing some work stuff (and, waiting for Stoner to come by).
Ed (Stoner) comes by to drop off a vanity that he had built for us. While we are talking (about rocks, of course), we hear this sound from the party like a really loud Harley (or something), and see these flames shooting up between the trees. My neighbor is the PR director for Burning Man, so he has these contraptions built for the festivel. Last year, he had a metal frame built in the shape of a fish that was attached to an ATV. He then wrapped this wire around the fish frame. The wire lights up when a current is applied.
Oh yeah, Stoner thanks for rocks - Morgan hill poppy jasper, arkie lace agate, arkie opal pet wood, lagunas, etc. You are welcome to come over any time!

Sounds like it was fun
Kids say the darnest things. I remember once waiting in line for the ATM machine, and my son (saying very loudly) "Mommy, that lady has a FAT A$$" pointing with his finger to the woman in front of us. I was shocked to even hear him say something like that (First time I ever heard a rude comment come out of his mouth, let alone a bad word). I was so embarassed, and had to appologise to the poor woman.

Husband has a male acquaintance who was in the process of becoming a woman - well one day, he (then mostly a she) stops buy to talk wearing overalls (as she's a dog trainer) and my daughter asks me loudly (and she was at least 7 at this time) "is that a man or a woman?" I told her to hush up and not ask these things when the person is there - but she kept staring and debating loudly with her friend about this & giggling (I think she recognized the voice and was perplexed as to the change of look) It's something VERY hard to explain to a child

I'll take some pics once every thing is installed. So far, in the kid's bathroom, the vanity is in. But, because we don't have a light or the countertop, there is a stand up lamp sitting in the vanity.
But, Stoner is making new closet frames and doors, two vanities, one or two frames for mirrors, and a storage thing with glass shelves. Stoner has posted pics of some of his woodwork. He is a very fine woodworker!
The contractor (my neighbor) wants Stoner's phone number. He had a bid on a job, in which he wanted Stoner to make something. But, he didn't win the bid. Another guy that I work worth wants Stoner to bid on some closets! Poor Stoner, when is going to find time for his rocks and his new grand daughter?
I sure am glad that Stoner is a rockhound. And, lives nearby!

you are super lucky to have stoner nearby with all that talent he hides. you could be in ms where when they are suppose to replace a window seal outside they don't understand the importance of it looking like the one they took out, so then the storm window doesn't go back in, so they make a "temporary" fix so the window will go back in and over a year later they still haven't come back.........and i've been told today that this is my project for the day to get them back. do i want them back?

Thanks Cal. I forgot to tell you about the poppy jasper. It tends to fracture when tumbled, but I've cut and polished pieces on the grinder that have come out looking nice.
Hey Kim, if you pay the airfare, I'll come fix your window for you.
