Ok for everyone who hasnt read my posts. I am battling thyroid cancer at 31, with no insurance etc etc having said that, i am very tired from lack of sleep and the lack of hormones in my body etc. plus one week from today I go under the knife for thyroidectomy and exploratory today I figure i will get some things done around here, clean up and over due lawn etc so first no gas for lawnmower, to the gas station. which is close to the rock place the aventurine came from. cool this is a good thing go to rock place, get nail in tire getting there, drop rock on foot get spare tire on, spill gas tank go to hardware / pool store for chlorine for pool spill in back of truck ( lucky i have a pan in the back of my blazer or the carpet would be worse) get home doc office lost last check message on machine also calling in to work nope not gonna return calls, so start on lawn, thunderstorm rolls in w rain ok come inside, eat lunch, lady comes home for her break, passed up for raise at work,, bad mood, sun comes out making it humid but dry enough to mow start mowing again, tire on rear of lawnmower seperates from hub, A : driving blades into concrete edging, breaking blade, B : flat tire, tubeless style dunno how to reset that ok, my lawn mower is a 38 inch riding lawn tractor i cant even begin to lift to get on sawhorses for repair decide call for help, buddy on his way after work cool will cut slabs of that beautiful new aventurine i got. drag out saw,, begin cutting, get lit up like chistmas tree Rats ate into wire in back of cabinet unit. blow breaker and scream. as soon as mower is fixed i think its time for a captain and coke, and a movie w pizza or something.. its almost funny if it wasnt true.. oh, man a day like that AND OUT OF RUM? ?? that just ain't fair. wow, wlarus, i must have missed the thyroid post. i have been hypo thyroid for a few years now, treating it with synthroid or something. am going to see a specialist next month, but can sympathize with your lack of energy. the bright side is that once they get that out of you they can pump you up with hormones and you will feel much, much better. that still won't help with shorted out saws (that really sucks) and bent mower blades. hubby bought tubes for our lawn mower but before he had to use them he tried "slime"...it's some green goo that seals leaks and has held both front tires up all year. got it at Wally world in the automotive dept. good luck, let me know how much you want for a few slabs, thanks, KD

Hey Walrus, I was sitting at my computer and when I read your post I had the TV going (my dog likes to watch it) and Airplane! was on. Had to think of your day when Lloyd Bridges says, "I picked a hell of a day to stop drinking!" Ron ps Sometimes you just gotta laugh.

Wow Walrus, I think life is telling you to write a book! I think you should call it a day, don't touch anything else, and do whatever it takes to make the rum gods smile. Good luck buddy, hang in there. Joe

Is that the green aventurine? It doesn't look so pale, it's really pretty.

Man, if I were you, I wouldn,t even try to fix yourself a drink, could cut yourself on the bottle when you drop it - have someone else fix you a drink! I hate those kinds of days, usually happen on Mondays though! Hope your luck changes

cher, yes thats the green aventurine, (what i got cut before i got fried) its nice its semi opaque/ translucent,, a light makes it pretty from behind. its not as dark as some ive seen,, but for under a buck a lb,, what can i say ( will ship for cost if you want some)
i cut the slabs at 3/8 or 9 mm thick for good cabs and freeform stuff, but i dare not sit at the pixie tonight.
and sceond tweety,, i got everyhing picked up for me including pizza, and the bottles were plastic.

I'll keep that in mind, maybe if/when I can sell a couple pendants but I need to get grit first.

So, how much of that aventurine would you trade for a bottle of rum? Just kidding. Sorry it's raining poo in your neighborhood. Sounds like tomorrow has to be better.

well 2 days later and it amazes me how much things turn around.
work was chaotic yesterday night as i was running low on blood ( had put away for surgery) very busy, Tired as i was at least night went quick
today dragged into work and did the video thing ( i work pt at blockbuster) got home to find " some stone thing" that was offered by a freind of mine
that turned out to be a 14 inch gravity lortone lapidary saw and 8 inch vibro lap
uhhh hello,, ill deal with bad days more often if i get this kinda suprise. needs new pump for coolant, but blade seems to have life left and such, motor works guards are there. all the bolts are awol from storage etc but i think i can mabye find replacements there.

i go in thursday the 25, spend a day or three in the hospital and come home, supposedly will be on feet in about 4 or 5 days, then doc will start the thyroid replacement stuff.
last night we decided it was definitely the full moon in talking with a few other freinds. all had similar dumb luck that went away.
