Hey Kim, how's your hubby doing? And what about yourself? I know you've been giving a lot of yourself to help down there so am hoping you are taking good care of yourself too. Sometimes people don't stop to realize how this can affect the volunteers too.

Cher we are the proud owners of a new "floor mobile" which will be my hubby's new home for an indefinite period - '89 allegro mobilehome. The "boys" were proudly spit shining it yesterday and getting their new quarters cleaned up. As soon as Rita passes they will make a trip down with samples then we'll get rolls in of the most popular types of flooring. Prices on flooring are fixing to go up Oct 3rd (so if you were fixing to get some hurry). This will likely be the 1st of many increases which makes it extremely hard to keep the prices updated in the computer. It is definitely ALL stressing me out.
My daughter was blown away by the potty being inside the mobile home. She wants to camp out in it before it leaves. She doesn't really understand this all and I can't really explain as I don't know if I do either. I don't know when her daddy will be back or how long this will go on so I have no answers. We'll just have to take it one day at a time.
The chaos here has settled down. I have taken a step backwards from the volunteers. They were becoming very territorial because they too are tired and stressed out. People are housed (maybe not permanently but housed), clothed, some have jobs, children are in school. The evacuees are showing up less at the expo because they are settling into a routine and emergency needs have been met. I have no idea at this point if we are getting any new evacuees.

I tried to look kim but all I got was a black screen. Could be because I'm on dial-up.
