A few years back, I knew this person who did concrete work. He had a two yard concrete mixer that was electric powered. Through time, it got full of hard concrete. Rather than using muriatic acid to dissolve the solid concrete, he threw a bunch of stone in it, filled it with water and turned it on. The stones wore the concrete so it was smooth inside and the stones got smoother also. He later played with grits, and bought a plastic bbl concrete mixer. He never did all the polish runs we do, but he did make polished stones for his sidewalk, pool run, and driveway. It ended with that project and I always wondered how big a tumbler one could make. I know, I can get tumbled stones by the pound from my suppliers, and the shipping is higher than the stone cost. I bet there are bigger ones than that out there.

A guy a know told me about his former neighbor, who bought an old cement truck specifically for polishing stones/rocks for his landscaping needs. Said he would toss BIG rocks in there and get her crankin'! Turned out some beatiful rocks, but the neighbors weren't so happy. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) llana

I couldn't afford enough rock to fill that thing, let alone the grit that I would have to buy. Tami

for landscape rock I think that you could get away with either sandblasting sand or masonry sand and just let roll

Way, way, cool. There ought to be some real good stone in there. That is an hunk of stone.
