I had the most wonderful day today. All I did today was rock related. There was a small rock and mineral show across town today. Basically a garage sale setup with rocks. I looked at more rocks and minerals then I usually see at one time. Then one of the guys tells me, "well, if you're interested in rough rock just go into my backyard. Everything in the rock garden is .50 a lb. " The rock garden was a circle maybe 16'-18' across filled a foot high with obsidian chunks, assorted agate, and lots of pet wood. I brought home 14 lbs. of pet wood (lots of yellow) and a few lbs of everything else. There were fluorite chunks, sliced agates, geodes, and large chunks of selenite. Well, you get the picture. I'm going back tomorrow with a bucket. When I got home my order from Kim was here. The rock she sent was excellent! I washed and sorted rocks all afternoon. Today was a very good day!!! Joe

You lucky son of a gun!
It's my 1yr anniversary with my sweet heart this weekend & we are going to the mineral store on Sunday (my day) but all day on Saturday is her day (to do what she wants). Not a bad compromise, since she likes rocks "almost" as much as I do but I don't know what kind of crazy stuff she's going to drag me into all day Saturday...

Way to go, Joe.
Sounds like you need a saw, a grinder and about five more tumblers.

Oh happy day, part two. I went back today and cherry picked 125 lbs. more rock!! I kept asking the guy if he minded my buying so much of his rock. His wife kept saying "No, no. Go take more, please." Kim, Walrus if I had the nerve I'd go back with a pickup. Lcars, big congrats on your anniversary! You'll have to tell us what happens Sat. I very much want a bigger saw, a grinder , a 12 lb tumbler, a digital camera, and lots more. Curses on having to live on a greatly reduced budget. Such is life. Now there is time for fun but it has to stay cheap!! They did tell me there will be another sale in May. They try to do it twice a year. I will be back this is not over!! My haul: pet wood-(lots of yellow, some red)- 73 lbs. obsidian-(black,black/brown, brown)- 23 lbs. Assorted agates, jasper, geodes, some turtle umm Turttilla something shells- 31 lbs selenium-3 lb chunk An I don't knowite that looks cool- 9lbs I paid $72.50 for that. I am a really happy camper tonite. Gonna start me a rock garden out back like others I've seen photos of. Only smaller. Can I wait 6 months to go back? Will I be driven to late nite rock related crimes? Who knows. Ok sorry for rambling. I'm gonna go sit surrounded by all my cool new rocks for awhile. The feeling of power! Bwa haa haa haa! Power! Ok forget it I'll go take my meds now. Thanks for sharing my fun. Joe
