Let me explain: I started making bracelets & anklets out of swarovski crystals. I sell these for $20 Cdn to mostly colleagues at work. Now even ag $20 I barely break even and in the beginning I was losing money as they're strung on beadalon (19 ply wire coated with nylon) and this spool is $18! The place I order from has a deal where if you accumulate sales and you've bought for $200 you get $25 of supplies for free! (Excellent place & great service for those interested BeadFx *quick plug*). Once in a while if I can get a few orders together, or if I have enough leftovers to make a complete project I make a few bucks more (as I have to pay the tax & express shipping on the items) Well this last order I got my $25 free items and I had planned to make 3 bracelets ($60 in my pocket clean & clear) well I got paid for one of them and gave her the bracelet the week before, but the woman who ordered the other two was on holidays so I stored these in my office drawer that locks. Well I get in to work on Tuesday (took Monday off) and found that I couldn't find the bracelets anywhere! I checked my drawers, thought I had brought it home, checked everywhere, my purse, closed, my daughter,s craft stuff - EVERYWHERE! I can't find it - I'm horrified that someone would go into that drawer to dig those out and steal them! I'm going to try searching again but I've already done that three times and can't find them anywhere. So there goes my profit! Now I have to order my stock again and instead of ending up with$40 of profit, I'll probably only make $5! How could anyone be so mean! This jsut sucks

I'm sorry Tweety, that just bites. Hopefully whoever took them will have an attack of guilt and return them.

I tell every artist who gets their design stolen, they never steal a bad design! That is the reality of business. We get "lifted" every weekend. We have set up a pattern of setting aside sacrificial lambs to decrease the theft on our good stuff. It is sad, but, they never steal a bad design.

Just when you think you know who you work with this crap happens. My wife's company had several laptops lifted a couple of years back from locked offices - come to find out it was the cleaning crew. I feel for you but take it as a lesson learned and as my dad always said when something went wrong with me, "It builds character."

Thanks guys for your good thoughts, now I feel so cheap myself! I found the darn thing, in my office drawer, but underneath all the stuff in there - don,t remember burying it so deep... that cRS is much worse than I thought.
But there have been thefts at work - have to lock up supplies as well as people would take them home

glad you found it before you accused anyone of taking it them!! (how embarrassing!)
i was working overtime one saturday a long while back and had a coworker steal $60.00 out of my purse (not in a locked drawer, but stashed in an out of the way place.) this was when i was making a whopping $104/week, so it was a big chunk of change for me at the time. i didn't even notice it until i was on my way home and stopped at the gas station and the creep had left a ONE dollar bill and taken three twenties, maybe hoping i would have not remembered i had them? but i felt so bad telling my manager and wondering WHO in the heck might have done such a thing.
anyway, they caught the guy in the end after he'd stolen from a few more people and fired him. so, you never know who you are working with, but glad to hear you found your bracelets.

I use to work at a fastish food place when I was a teen at the counter some evenings and the girl who worked the day shift would ALWAYS take out money from my cash register without me knowing. We had to pay out of our own pocket when we were short when we counted up our cash & checked invoices. (I was making $5/hour part time then) I remember one day (like it was yesterday) where I gave my ENTIRE paycheck for two weeks back to the restaurant as I had all tha money stolen (I didn,t know then that was the problem, but I remember signing my paycheck back to them) I knew I wasn,t that bad with the money but there was no other explanation at that time. Later they fired her and they found out she'd been stealing and she even came back one night to try to empty out the cash register on her night off before she got fired. I'm still POed that I had to give my cheque for that B#%$H - I should have taken money out of her till! Live I learn - I still can't understand how anyone could take something from someone else and not have a guilty conscience afterwards??

Good to know you found your bracelets Tweetie.
Sorry about the rough time you had as a teenager. It's really unfortunate there are people like that out there.

I worked in a store where the MANAGER was ripping us off to the tune of $200 a week- Well the owner finially caught him and fired him- he went to the labor board - pleaded his case (for his lasst weeks pay) and WON- We got him in the end however cause he was using a company van and we just reported it stolen- HAHA Grand THeft auto (also helped that he had 5 or 6 ounces of coke with him when they pulled him over!) I can't stand when employess rip off employers or fellow co-workers!

Oh, Tweetie I am so glad it was pilot error and not a thief. It is the start of the stealing rush. My friend has already moved her shop around for the 'season'. I will tell her of the sacrificial lambs. She probably already knows that trick though.
Use to have a boss that accused us of stealing all of the time. Guess what he got fired for?
