2005 just bites! I'm just darn ticked off and so frustrated right now I could cry. I keep telling myself to count my blessing but it's getting pretty hard to do.
February, we lost our only income when hubby was told he couldn't work anymore because of his back. Applied to get his SS disabliity but still haven't heard anything yet.
August, found out my daughter is moving away. I'm sorry but that's really got me upset. I know, I'll learn to live with it but it's hard.
September, dealing with seeing my grandkids actually leave, then the surgery.
October, losing our family dog Nala last week was bad enough and now today the freakin' tranny went on my car!
I can't believe it and am thanking God that it held out and didn't go out on me while I was between home and the cities where I had my surgery. *sigh* I love my Bonneville and even though it's a '94, it's only just turned over 90,000 miles. No rust, it still looks like a new car but that won't matter now. The way my luck's been I'll be scared to death to go taking off to visit my grandkids by myself.
Arrrggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! I wish I could go out and bust up some rocks, maybe that would get rid of some of the frustration!

Won't know until tomorrow, or as soon as we can get it into the auto mechanic's. I still can't believe it, I'm just glad I wasn't the one driving it when it happened.

Hi Cher. I'm sorry to hear that the year has been bad for you. Like KD, I don't really know what to say but I hope things start to look up for you soon. You're such a nice person I hate to see you hurt like that. Yeah, you need to go smash some rocks. Smash crummy rocks 'cause you're gonna smash them into teeny tiny pieces. Too small to tumble but very theraputic! Joe

*smile* Thanks Joe and Robert! I know, it is sometimes hard to find words to say and I really appreciate your thoughts. I'll be ok and feel much better today, it's just a major expense that we really can't afford right now but that's life isn't it. Always something! I need to find some rocks that are supposed to bring good luck and fill the house with those.
Breaking rocks will be interesting. Can ya see me out there sitting in the snow? I'll probably have to do that cause I sure don't want to go the whole winter without my tumblers rolling. That's my own fault, I should have had them busted up and ready a long time ago. Joe, if I could bust them up now, that's what I'd have ... lol .... pieces too small to even tumble. Robert hope things really turned around for you after last year.

Cher, just a crazy thought. Have you ever tried applying Fung Shui to your home? I've never tried it myself, but I have heard a few real life stories from friends who say it works. Here's a site I found which gives free fung shui tips, and how to go about it (you don't have to pay for anything or buy a book). All you have to do is register for free to get free tips. www.fortunespace.co.nz/public/home.asp?strPage=home&f=1Anyway, just a thought and it certainly wouldn't hurt to try

Cher-
Sorry to hear of your aggravation. Life can really throw us curves once in a while. Hope your surgery went well and that you have a speedy recovery.
Just a word of advice, if and when you decide to whump (what a cool word) some rocks, just be sure to wear your safety glasses....the way your luck has been, you'd probably get a stray in the eyeball....LOL....
I hope you have a great day....take care,
Gaetz

Thanks Alice, I've never tried Fung Shui but might have to read up on it. Gaeter, I now what you mean and yes I wear eye protection, long pants, long sleeves too. The mechanic came to look at the tranny and the news is not looking good. With the older style trannys, you could drop it and rebuild it for a few hundred bucks but not these stupid front wheel drive, wish they'd never invented them. Something broke loose inside the nose cone where the spider gears are and there's chunks missing out of them. He's [the mechanic] is going to make a few calls to see how much work can be done on them, like can you replace just the nose cone and spider gears or if it's more involved than we think. Please excuse me, I'm going to the corner for a pity party! Could use some cheese to go with my whine but with my luck it would be moldy.

Yay! I think. Car's going in tomorrow morning. Estimates are about $400.00 if it's just the nose cone and spider gears, $1,100.00 if it's whole thing. And that's with a one year warranty.

On the positive side you have your health and family. You have your hobbies which can help take your mind off the negative things! My dad was in the marines, he use to always say, "When the going get's tough, the tough get going." I think this is true in life. There are many things that happen in life that we can't avoid. It's how we choose to deal with them that is important. I would give up all my things, if I could make sure my mom doesn't have another stroke...sigh!

Cher, Sorry to hear about your bad luck! I like that saying...When the going.....tough...get going. I also think Keeping a Positive Attitude and Always Smile helps more than we may know! Chin-Up Cher....things will get better! Steve

I know that you can't see it now, but inside every black cloud there is a silver lining. The bigger and darker the cloud, the bigger the silver inside. The hard part is the waiting but give it time and then you may see it. Sometimes it isn't something you will see but it was there nonetheless. I know that there isn't a GOOD time for a tranny to crater but there are definatly some REALLY bad times and this wasn't one of them. My truck went out on my wife one time while I was in the hospital in traction. That was really bad timing because I do most of my own mechanic work and she had to pay to have some simple work done. In the end though it turned out for the best. That mechanic that she had to have it towed to was a good and honest man and after that I had someone that I could trust when there was something I needed someone else to do. He really was kind to my wife and is a friend now. Sorry about the loss of your furry child. They give us so much and losing them is always a sadness.
