I just have to vent as I'm so frustrated. I'm stuck at home with the flu - left work on Tuesday afternoon & had a fever of somewhere between 101 & 103 since then and a headache to boot! I've gotten maybe 7 hours of sleep since Monday night & my back aches. When I did managed to finally fall asleep my son - who has an ear infection as well as a bad cough - would wake me up to cover him up. I'm a zombie, I can,t function, I've been going between freezing with the teeth chattering & sweating enough to have to change the bed! Hot flashes - gees menopause will not be my thing!
At work they're getting pretty upset (to put it mildly) that I've taken all this time off (I work in finance and do up contracts for our department - I have a backup but she's not too thrilled with that part of the job). The house is a mess and I don't have the energy to clean it up!
My parents are taking the kids for part of the weekend (bless them!) so I'll have a chance to try to recooperate (sp?).
But the worse is yet to come: there was this haunted house tour that has been on the map for many, many months and was to take place tonite. 1 1/2 hours of visiting haunted quarters in our area (near Halloween too!) and I may have to cancel.
But the very worse: I had planned a birthday party for my daughter at the movies to see Harry Potter on November 19th (as posted in a previous post) but now I find out that that is not possible until after December 1st (where we will not be available and a good 2 months after her actual birthday (yesterday). Now the party offered a ticket, popcorn, soda & treat along with the movie & seating together in a special section. Now this is not available, should I chance it and still try to get 7 of us in and sitting together - Remember this is opening weekend. Now they,re seeing this movie in French which means that the theater will be packed to capacity - had it been in English - I may have been a bit luckier, but the french will be full! (this was another thing that kept me awake last night). I figure, I may be able to get the tickets purchased a week in advance and if we get there very early we may end up with seats together. But what about present exchange? I though while we waited she could open them, OR we could take two cars & come back home for the opening of presents & blowing out candles on the non-traditional confetti squares cake!
BTW has anyone tried Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans? The Harry Potter jelly belly jelly beans? For those who remember the movie, they are flavoured like anything? Cherry, lemon drops, grape jelly, black pepper, green apple, grass, soap, earthworm, boogers, spinach, earwax, sardines, vomit, spaghetti, dirt - well hubby got box and YES they do taste exactly like advertised - I had earthworm (had to spit it out!) sardines, (spit that out too) grass (not bad) dirt (like a mouthfull of topsoil) spaghetti (not a good flavor for a jelly bean) popcorn (nah), soap (good to eat that one after sardines), boogers, earwax & vomit were tried by a pal of mine and yes they are disgusting - vomit, I was told was like eating a chunk of it! - can you imagine that someone had to taste these to see if they really tasted the same
