Do not try to open a #3 barrel with step 1 in it while in costume. I tried to multitask and ended up with slurry all over my witch's dress.
I am going to assume you guys have rubber aprons? What a mess.
Speaking of opening barrels....is there a trick to it? I already got the treat all over me.

I use the washer to pry up the edges of the cover until it pops off then loosen all around the edge of the lid before lifting. Always leave it sitting flat on something, do not hold and pull lid at the same time but I'll bet you figured that part out. Happy Halloween to you too Carol, I'm sitting here with a bowl of candy that seems to have my name all over it. Not a single kid yet.

My #33B bbls used to have a very secure lid. I found, if I let it sit for a bit, the pressure would equalize. I then could squeeze the sides and the lid would get a crack. That I could pry open. I found, removing the nut, twisting a bit, then letting it sit made the job a lot easier.

I do mine the same way Cher does! Much easier this way and no surprises. LOL!
