I'm back and had a good time, hope all others did as well. I think my father-in-law is loosing his mind (Alltimerz sp?) and its a sad thing to see. Very scary to get in the car with him as he goes 40 miles an hour on the freeway - LOL about pissed my pants more times than I care to remember. Found a ton of rocks but only brought back 2 or 3. Most were found at state park where you can look and touch but not take. Got to visit my cousin, his wife and two little boys in there 5,000 square foot house - man, and I thought mine was big.
Got back home to wonderful weather 80s - just what the saw doctor ordered but didn't saw anything because the wife was sick and sleeping - played with tumblers and did some knapping. Spent the last couple of hours catching up with all the wonderful pics I've missed out on - wish every day had that many pics. And just wanted to say its good to be back home among the rocks of the world.

Welcome back Robert! I'm glad you had a good time but I'm sorry about your father-in-law, that is so sad. I can't believe you came home with only a couple of rocks, did you drive? We'll be waiting to see what you knapped, we need new pics. ;D Hope your wife feels better soon, no fun being sick.

Glad you made it back safe. I'm sorry to hear about your dad in law. That stuff scares me, as my folks are approaching 80 now. I hope he fares well. joe

Hey Robert, my mother-in-law lives with me now and she's 85, and I know what you mean. It can be really trying, but sometimes you just have to laugh. If you didn't, we'd all start losing our minds. My MIL loves to sit and watch me work on my canes. It's kind of amazing, she can literally sit for hours watching me work.

That's great Ron but my FIL would only tell me how to do it better - LOL, I can give him an idea and he will come up with millions of reasons why its not any good. I tell my wife to give him the idea and its the best he has ever heard. *smile* its a joke now with my wife and I

My mother worked in a nursing home for a long time and one day she was walking a lady with alzheimers down the hall. She was used to the lady rambling and mostly just let her talk but suddenly (as often happens) this lady had a moment of lucidity. She turned to my mom and said "did you get your hair cut?" and my mom, surprised, said, "why yes! yes I did get it cut!". And the lady said "I hope to god you didn't pay for it!". My mom still laughs about that. If you can laugh, you have everything.
