Checking voice mail and got a call from Ginger, co-worker, (she covers Dallas and goes east I cover Ft. Worth and go west) and she calls to tell me that she fell of her horse the day after Thanksgiving and broke her back! She's not paralyzed but will be out of work for at least 6 weeks.
Any prayers would be greatly welcomed
Robert

Ouch. That saddens me to hear. I will think good thoughts for Ginger. Dam, a broken back. Robert, I also will think that you need a change in luck! Multiple sadnesses at the holidays is bad. Hang in there it will improve. joe

Okay, got the scoop this morning and its bad but not as bad as one would think when they here 'brocken back.' Ginger is a very good rider but she was on a horse that has been trained as an Apache (American Indian) horse. The horse got spooked, took off through the woods. To stop this type of horse, you drop your knees, well her insticts said drop your heels. Long story short, she bailed off and broke her tail bone (L3). She can walk and sleep its the sitting part thats hard. She is in good spirits today, probably the drugs and the fact that she gets to miss the training that is coming up.

Oh crap, that's so darn painful too but much better than first thought. Give her our best, and tell her to get a big fluffy donut pillow with lots of cushion. She's going to need it.

That's an incredibly excruciating kind of pain!! I had a REAL close call some years back when this A--hole at a party yanked my chair out from under me when I went to sit down and this was on the concrete patio! If I did more than a nerdy gliding walk I would experience unbearable pain. This went on for about two weeks straight! The doc said I was lucky & it was not fractured but pretty bruised & swolen. He said if the soft tissue swelled too much I would start to lose feeling & motor function in my legs and if it didn't get treated I could get paralysed from the hips down. I had to get a needle jammed into my assbone too! and when I say "jammed" I mean "JAMMED" in!! Damn! I still grit my teeth when I think about it now! Don't worry cuz I got even with the S.O.B. (sorta) but that's another story...
