I sure hope that everyone is safe. I just saw on the news that Missouri is having tornadoes, hope it's not affecting any of our members. Puppie are you ok?? Alabama is getting it now ...
They were talking about the snow out west too, sounded like parts of Utah got nailed. Gaetz, you ok? Anyone else?
We're going to have a blizzard. Our winds are expected to reach up to 60 mph tonight, 35 mph is considered a blizzard. Winter storm warnings beeping across the screen. Joanne, Ron, KD, Stefan anyone east of me, beware and get yourself stocked up while you can, it's coming your way.
We've been having some really bad weather since yesterday, freezing rain and fog. The roads were really bad, lots of black ice, but the county/state plows were out sanding and salting so that helped. We got over an inch of rain, and it's still coming down but it's starting to freeze again. They are saying we're going to have an inch of ice before it turns to snow, then 6 - 12 inches of snow. This kind of weather scares me, I worry about my parents and other elderly people. At least my parents have a wood stove so they can stay warm but if we get that much ice, powers going to be gone. They've already started closing roads up here again that just reopened this afternoon. I'm listening to the scanner and it's starting to freeze. They just reported another roll-over, this one needing the jaws of life.
You know, people drive like they are freakin' crazy, with no care about themselves or others. Give them a four-wheel drive and they think they are bullet-proof. 4WD is no good on ice though and if they go in the ditch, there's so many others affected by it. My heart goes out to the ambulance personel, tow-truck drivers, the police and state patrol officers that have to get out in this to help others that shouldn't be out there anyway.
Sorry to be blabbing away here, I'm just worried. My daughter had to work afternoons, she'll be heading home in the thick of it.
