Thought I was impervious, but I finally fell for one. If you are currentely selling on Ebay and you get a question from a customer in your Email box. DO NOT hit the Respond now key. I got one a few days ago complaining they did not receive my order. I checked and could not find where I had done business with him, but looked him up and he was an Ebay Member. So, I hit the Respond Now key to tell him I was still checking and would get back to him. Then I started checking. I forwarded it to Ebay and they said it was a scam and probably contained a Keystroke virus. When I hit Respond now, it took me directly to the real Ebay site to sign in, and of course, I typed in my Screen name and Password and was into my account. I immediately changed my password and went back and rechecked the Email. The main proof when it is for real, it will also appear under "my messages" under "my Ebay". This one did not. It should be addressed to your name. This one was addressed to "undisclosed recepient" It was a carbon copy of the real Ebay message and contained the name of a legitimate Ebay member. I received another one today so thought I would give everyone a heads up. The scams are getting sneakier everyday. Trish

gotta keep on your toes......these fools will try any trick in the book to get your account information. Key rule to always remember....ebay and paypal will never ask you for your info....they already have it!!!!! If in doubt....log on the ebay or paypal thru their URL..not a click here url...

Hey Trish, I get those all the time and I don't even sell on eBay. In fact, I get so many phony eBay emails, I pay no attention to any of them, especially the PayPal ones.

Always check the link by running your mouse over it and looking at the status bar (bottom of the broswer window) on your browser. When you run your mouse over a link, it shows there, you can read what it is. 99.9999 % of the time, you'll find out it's not from ebay or paypal. And like Trish said, true messages are in your ebay message box.

I got that email too. Knew right away it was a scam because I didn't put anything up for sale in months, and I got all my feedback from past sales.
I forwared it over to spoof@ebay.com (as I do with all my "scam" ebay emails)

I get those african inheritance ones all the time also. The FBI in Washington (I talked to them said there is a task force working on that problem alone, but do not respond to those e-mails.) On the other junk mails, scroll to the bottom of the screenm and hit unsubscribe. deleting them will not work too well, cause they will keep coming back. But unsubscribing to them will greatly slow them down. It is a lot of work at first, but once u get it going, it is not much of a problem after that.

DO NOT UNSUBSCRIBE to that type of e-mail. All that does is give proof to a real e mail address.
