We have snow here but not all that much...yet I gave in (kids were begging that I make them a hill) so I shoveled the yard! It's not a high hill, but the kids had fun

LOL now that's cute! Good thing it doesn't take much to keep them occupied.

I wish we could have a snow ball fight Chris... or even build a snowman or fort. Snow isn't sticky enough. It's just powder snow.
Cher, you're right! it doesn't take much to occupy kids

that white stuff is Frozen precipitation in the form of white or translucent hexagonal ice crystals that fall in soft, white flakes... we call it snow! Wish we had your weather sometimes Walrus. Especially in late Jan & early Feb Months. That's when it gets REALLY cold here

i actually rememeber driving in it, last time quite clearly, october 1992. sandusky ohio.
did a double 360 on black ice in a 1982 olds regency (19 feet of killer big car)
playing in it,, well thats another set of memories. i couldnt understand why my folks were unhappy. there was 5 feet to play in and dig thru. and the stuff you knew was there was fun to find by diggin tunnels thru. (the garage door, car, tractor etc)
and as for our winter weather, well its a trade really the hurricanes, summer swelter for 5 months, (no escape even at night from the heat) bad traffice, worse humidity, mosquitos as big as Bichon frise (and even more annoying) red hats everywhere and so on.
ahh paradise, the price we pay.
happy holidays to all,, im hiding in my bedroom till january

Walrusleather Congrats and Happy Birthday. I'm with you on the shorts. Snow looks great on a Christmas card but I prefer sand on the ground. Merry ChristmasPete

We get nasty summer weather here too. Way too hot and really bad for babies and old people. I think over 100 people died from the heat / humidity last year.
We go from one extreme to another. Freezing cold in the winter (Dangerous to go outside) to Texas desert temperatures in the summer with a bonus of humidity.

I think most kids love the snow
If there's enough snow out in the yard this year, I think I'll make them a maze. I think they'll like that

Just updating with pictures. We got snow over night. Ton's of it! Took me 6 hours with 2 bathroom breaks to make a pathway from the car to the street today. Tomorrow, I gotta shovel the rest of the driveway. Man my legs are sore! and I'm staving (haven't eaten all day) The kids had a lot more fun with this hill then they did with the mole hill above. This is less then 1/4 of the driveway (we have the longest driveway on the street). But check out that Hill !
