Who we got in North Carolina? They had a bad ice storm down that way, lots of power outages and it's going to be cold tonight. Prayers and positive vibes out to anyone affected, hope all our rockhounders are ok.

cher cookie might be in it. how far north of atlanta is she? i called my sister who is just outside of atlanta and she said all was good as it was melting today and they had no outages. what melted will refreeze tonight but then the temp is suppose to get to 50 tomorrow. driving will be a mess. i don't know about north carolina though and helen is real close to there, mountain roads, lots of trees and little curvy roads. cookie might have gotten worse stuff.

I've got a gal on my other forum that's in North Carolina, she was able to get on for a few this morning and said things were really bad. She's in Charlotte and already was loosing power this morning. Said she was listening to the transformers pop up and down the street. Helen is about 200 miles from Charlotte.

Yea pretty bad all up and down the east coast- we got a little ice then some snow then a bit more ice- but it was sooo windy the ice could not stick to the powerlines (thank goodness)

i thought for sure we'd lose power last night, the wind was howling and it was doing ice and sleet for the better part of the night, then it turned to snow and really pounded down all morning. we got about 1/4" of ice and about 6" of snow over that, made for extremely slippery travel.
a friend of ours from Miami flew up today, man, was he SO not a happy camper!

KD man you guys got hit a lot worse- We had about 1/8 inch of ice and only 4 inches of snow- My sister is coming up next week and really wants a white Christmas (she live in Houston) I told her there would be no Problem!
